Morning Stroll

Wow great stroll!! I set a pretty good time on the 2 miles to beat as a daily goal. I will diligently work on that until I can not make it.

After my walk I went to the kids play area and did my steps 6 times. Then walked to the bench that looks South towards the city and rested a good while. It seemed to me a tad warmer today than yesterday, and I was done much earlier than yesterday.

Tomorrow will be my last day at this park. Over the weekend I will find another park to check out. This park has a neat view of the sunrise and I will have to remember that in the event I think there may be an unusual one for photos.

This park's outside loop is 1.1 miles and most parks are not that large. This one also has a VERY challenging uphill section. I have done it in both directions and it is a challenge in either direction. For instance this morning I went down the sidewalk between the baseball fields wow pretty steep! I will try to go up that part tomorrow after I have done my 2 miles. I will take a picture and see if I can get a feeling in the picture of the steepness.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Look what I got.
WOW are they spendy this year.
Who knows what it is. Anita do they have those in Panama?

I will try to find something interesting to photo today on my afternoon mischief run.

Spread The Wealth

This is dedicated to Richards son. Enjoy your daily Bread.

Yesterday on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the server was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, without his consideration of whether I should have even have done that; though in my opinion the actual recipient needed the server’s money more.

Morning Stroll and Early Though

The sun actually breaking the horizon. The contrail just above the sun looked pink to the naked eye.

I had a good walk this morning however I am going to change my near term goal. I was going to go 3 miles and reduce the time by 5 minutes every day. Well I will change that to 2 miles timed. I will time 2 miles tomorrow and decide how much to reduce the time per day until I can't make the time. There are several reasons for the change. Mostly I don't want to hurt myself to the point it takes a long time to get well.

This is just before the sun broke the horizon, it was quite orange and a large glow ball. Seems there must be some water in the air this morning.

My thought is ...? Why is Bill Ayers a respectable member of the upper middle class and Sarah Palin contemptible?

Have any of you seen the Halloween House in Hollywood that has Sarah Palin hung?

Who is it that decides what is a hate crime? What Party do you suppose those persons are.

What do you suppose would happen if Obama were hung?

Trick or Treat LOL

Today's Thought... Test?

It seems to me we have forgotten about the war on Terror. Barny Frank has already called for a 25% cut on military spending as soon as Obama is in office.

Good ole Joe said "Mark his words" Obama will be tested. We may not understand the response. Just trust em.

It is my contention why get tested in the first place? However if we are tested then lets have someone in the office who has already been tested. Not someone who has never had any real responsibility and never made any hard decisions, let alone some that may put soldiers in harms way?

Why take that chance? For change? Change seems to be redistribution. Redistribution seems to be Socialism.

Stroll

The last several evenings I have seen this flying around Las Vegas. It is uniquely lit inside and quit intresting to see flying around. Not sure how many seats are on or if they are for sale but the flight would be quite interesting. Slow but fun.

So after my stroll I went to the North Las Vegas Airport and took these.

For the last week we here in Vegas have had the very best of the weather. 55-60* at night and 80-83* at 4pm or so. Just marvelous !!!! We can expect another 5 or 6 days just like that! Wow.

Well I had my first stroll of 3 miles and did not think about time at all. I rested all I wanted. I stopped to chat here and there. I stopped to watch birds. From here on out I will take off 5 minutes a day until I can't make it. Then I will work on it.

Here is where I go up and down the stairs. I use the sliding board stairs way on the left. There are 6 steps up and down the first / last is a real challenge. About 1 1/2 normal height. I do that 10 times if I can. A couple times I have only been able to do 3 or 4.

This is one of the concrete bench that are placed all over the park. I rest on these and the picnic tables that are around the short loop of this park.

Change

Change seems to mean Redistribution. The new video of Obama on a Public Radio interview again explains quite clearly how he sees redistribution as the answer to most of Americas problems. However as is Obama's past and current associations with Terrorists not important his extremely "Socialistic Views" edging on Marxism not important to the MSM. MSM = Main Stream Media, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC.

Morning Stroll and Early Though

Pre Dawn yesterday....

Somehow I did not get a post in yesterday. I had an absolutely wonderful stroll and walked a tad more than I will as I am trying to shorten my time on a distance. I walked a tad over 5 miles yesterday and had plenty left. So from today on I will drop that to 3 miles for the morning walk. Whatever the time is I will try to take 5 minutes off a day till I get it where I want it.

This is just as the 1st edge of the sun came over the edge of the horizon.

My early morning thought is that it just baffles me that Obama's passed associations are so very irrelevant. In the Ayers case when I hear that Obama was 8 when he murdered folks in the pentagon, calls into question the mental integrity of the person who says that. As Obama says "Spread the Wealth" and explains his "Welfare" program you just have to look at two of his most influential associates to know where those ideas came from.

Income Redistribution !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck&eurl

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.

I guess redistribution of wealth thingy is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

Today's Thought...

Bureaucrat??, we have 435 Congressmen (bureaucrats) that represent us all. They for the most part are all detestable. Very few do what they were sent there to do. Represent the folks.

“A bureaucrat is the most despicable of men, though he is needed as vultures are needed, but one hardly admires vultures whom bureaucrats so strangely resemble. I have yet to meet a bureaucrat who was not petty, dull, almost witless, crafty or stupid, an oppressor or a thief, a holder of little authority in which he delights, as a boy delights in possessing a vicious dog. Who can trust such creatures?” —Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 BC)

Morning Stroll and Early Though

Just a gorgeous morning here. I will go out and get in to it here shortly. Slept in a tad this morning, that doesn't happen very often.

I never finished yesterday. The afternoon before that I went out to get a few days of fruit. I know the pears look a tad roughed up but I get the ones that are perfect to eat, not look at. I got two different kinds of oranges. The last few times I have gotten oranges there have been these "Valencia" oranges from CA and they have been the best Oranges I have had in the last couple 3 years. Well there was a stack of oranges right as you walked into the produce area of this store. They were very Pretty, stacked up nicely and a bright pretty orange color. They were "Navel" Oranges from CA.

So here I got these Valencia oranges in a giant box on a pallet on the floor, 3Lbs for 99 cents and up on a counter beautifully stacked and a bright orange there are these Navel oranges 54 cent a Lbs.

Navel on the right here.
So I get 2 lbs Navel and 6 lbs Valencia.

So here we have breakfast and a careful test as to which one is the best.

OOOOOOOOOOooooooHHHHHHHhhhhhh no not the cat food LOL

So as I recall from yesterday by this point I am about ravished and really ready to get after this fruit!! Because it is late Oct I get a nice juicy Pear added to my breakfast. Because I am doing a scientific taste test I get an extra orange for breakfast.

So you know the lower right has the Valencia.
Upper left Navel, lower left pear.
Upper right bannananana already munched some, there was more than that.

Well I took a piece of the Navel orange and it was more like a lemon that an orange. I puckered up and shivered a tad and my eyes squinted damn near shut. Whew!!!! Anyway the Valencia was just the same as the last batch, best juicy, sweet orange, best I've had in the last couple years.

Morning Stroll

My friend Karen from Reno will like this one ...

I got a late start this morning. Thanks Jerry in WA. LOL

It was absolutely the perfect morning for a stroll in the park. 55* no wind beautiful sunrise, clear skies, just perfect. Park was full for a weekday. Must be getting ready for the weekend??

The dog folks have been being really good at this park. I have not crossed 1 pile of poop on the sidewalk or close to sidewalk. I have not seen or smelled any poop at any of the picnic tables I have rested at, since I have been going to this park.

When I finished I still had plenty of spunk left.

I was sitting on a bench next to the ball fields 4650 steps, 2.9 miles dadburn I may as well make it 3 LOL. So I get up walk back to the last bench, and then back. LOL not quite enough, so I do it again, big smiley face shacking head... 3.007 miles Hahahahha ...

Another for my friend Karen in Reno..

A Simple Hug

There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.

A hug's a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.

Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your gran to your neighbor,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.

A hug is an amazing thing
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.

It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.

And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or parts
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.

I'll finish up with a few pictures and a thought here in a bit, after a breakfast and some coffee.

Morning Stroll

Sunrise, looking from the walkway in the park I have been walking. I am 3 or 4, 100 yards East of the ball fields. I took several pics, a couple right before the Sun broke the horizon and several while it broke the horizon to when it was a full circle. This was the 1st full circle.

Then I walked the short loop to a place where I had a reasonably unobstructed view of the mountains just South of Mt Charleston. Many call this Red Rock however this is the just East of Red Rock. About 3 or 4 minutes after the sun was all the way above the Eastern horizon.

Anyway you can see that even though you are surrounded by homes you still have quite a scenic stroll in this park.

This morning I started very early and it was the coolest morning this year. We are expecting 76* today and warmer the rest of the week. I had long sweat pants and a vest this morning.

I decided to go all the way around the long loop for the first time. I had to adjust when and where I stopped to rest because there are two parts of the long loop where it is farther between benches than I normally go. I walked the outside/long loop then took several pics then the inside loop and I used the kids slide to go up and down 6 steps 10 times. Then 1 more loop around the ball fields, back to the benches behind the ball fields

Today's Thought...

"The American democratic experiment will succeed until the people realize they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. Then it will collapse." - Alexis de Tocqueville, 1848

At a rally in Miami, Obama explained his Socialistic economic plan that amounts to redistributing wealth and dividing up a static economic pie.

Before he finished this crowd began to chant
"We want Pie!"..."We want Pie!"....
"We want Pie!"....."We want Pie!"......."We want Pie!"

We are quite close to the point where there are more non Tax payers than there are Tax payers. I think we can all guess might happen a short while after that point in time were to pass. If you are a Tax payer, chose wisely on Nov. 4th

Med Update

Good Morning!!!, Yesterday I had an appointment with the surgeon that did my hernia operation. He was quite impressed with my progress. I need not see him again unless I have a problem.

My physical limitations are predicated on pain or being tired. He said any training incorporating abs or tummy muscles if it hurts stop if I get tired stop. Pretty simple orders. I should be able to comply with them. Smiley face ;}

This morning I went to the park I am currently evaluating. I was cool with more of a wind than I like to walk in. I was in shorts too, so I only did a short walk.

A very big crowd this morning and with the wind I thought a little unusual. All were very friendly, and those with dogs had control of their dog.

I managed to gut out 4399 steps and 2.7 miles, so I did well for me at this point.

All the benches along the walk trails are concrete so they are hard and cold LOL. I may want to carry a pad as I walk on cool or cold days, so I can rest without sitting on a cold hard ICE cube of a bench. LOL

First loop this morning before sunrise, looking East.

Morning Meeting

My morning appointment this morning was with a Psycho Doc. Kind of a neat guy, anyway there is no question I am more than just a tad LULU.

I had a nice stroll yesterday and found out I was mistaken in the name of the park I have been walking at in the morning. Seastrand is the name of the park I am walking at.

Eldorado park is down the road a 1/4 mile or so and does not have baseball fields.

As I strolled around the park I noticed that there were some "Orange Road Cones" over several light post stands, of several light posts.

After a little stroll I stopped and chit chatted with a lady with an infant out getting some fresh air. She informed me of the park name and what the cones were for. Some young men used a vehicle to knock over the missing poles and then hook up to the wire and pulled the wire out between the poles. After an evening or 2 of this they were caught.

After that I was headed to the coffee shop and saw this gals car parked at Scoundral's II so I stopped to say hi how she doing? She was playing electronic bowling. Seem pretty neat game. Anyway they seemed to be haveing a good time. She is in Real Estate and said business had picked up a little for her.

Thought for today

I am off for some Saturday afternoon mischief. Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of it's self...

Government cannot make man richer, but it can make him poorer.

I am not sure why I can't put a direct link here so you have to copy paste.

I feel sorry for this guy. Obama came to his neighborhood. Obama initiated the conversation and question.

Here it sounds to me as tho Obama is ridiculing the poor guy and all he did was reply to something Obama said.

This one is the day after and explaining in his own words.

Sat Morning

Yesterday I went to get some fruit. There are 2 stores I normally get fruits and veggies from, they both use as close to us as they can for most produce and veggies. I live in the desert but pretty centrally located to 4 of the major veggie growing areas west of the Mighty Mississippi. I think the farthest one is the one in Salinas valley CA. These oranges were 3 Lbs. 99 cents. They are Valencia oranges, generally thought of as a juice orange.

So the point of bringing this up. In the next counter there were some very pretty oranges and they were navel type orange and $1.54 cent a Lbs. Now before you read it where do you suppose they came from? Australia!! ???

For goodness sake, how in the world do you, can you, think you could pick an orange, get it to port, load it on a boat, send it across an ocean, off load it, put it on a truck, drive right past the Valencia patch, to the desert and put it in a store and compete for price and taste? Well I bought 2 of them. No juice and almost no flavor!!..

Here the tags on the oranges are from California.

Almost ready!!!

Well yesterday went very well. I finished the day with 5692 steps and 3.63 miles. !! Wow for me I think that is pretty good. My right ankle hurts more than my dadburn belly ?? Oh well I will keep after it.

Ready to eat!
Wow great !!! The orange was very sweet and very juicy!!
