Anything is Possible

In a few short days, an African-American man will move from his private residence into a much larger and infinitely more expensive one owned not by him but by the taxpayers. A vast lawn, a perimeter fence and many well-trained security specialists will insulate him from the rest of us, but the mere fact that this man will be residing in this house should make us all stop and count our blessings - because it proves that we live in a nation where anything is possible.

Many believed this day would never come. Most of us hoped and prayed that it would, but few of us actually believed we would live to see it. Racism is an ugly thing in all of its forms, and there is little doubt that if this man had moved into this house fifteen years ago, there would have been a great outcry - possibly even rioting in the streets.

Today, we can all be both grateful and proud that no such mayhem will take place when this man takes up residency in this house.

This man moving into this house at this time in our nation's history is much more than a simple change of addresses for him - it is proof of a change in our attitude as a nation. It is an amends of sorts - the righting of a great wrong. It is a symbol of our growth, and of our willingness to "judge a man, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character".

There can be little doubt now that the vast majority of us truly believe that this man has earned both his place in history and his new address. His time in this house will not be easy - it will be fraught with danger and he will face many challenges. I am sure there will be many times when he asks himself how in the world he ended up here and, like all who have gone before him, the experience will age him greatly.

But I, for one, will not waste an ounce of worry for his sake - because in every way a man can, he asked for this. His whole life for the past fifteen years appears to have been inexorably leading this man toward this house. It is highly probable that in the past, despite all of his actions, racism would have kept this man out of this house. Today, I thank the lord above that I am an American and that I live in a nation where wrongs are righted, where justice matters, and where truly anything is possible.

Thought for Today MSNBC News Update

Oops! Pay stub used as bank robbery note
Man initially gets away with $400 but leaves his name, address
AP Associated Press
updated 7:14 p.m. PT, Mon., Dec. 29, 2008
CHICAGO - The robber's threatening note made a Chicago bank job easy to solve: The FBI says the suspect wrote it on his pay stub. An FBI affidavit said the man walked into a Fifth Third Bank on Friday and handed a teller a note that read "Be Quick Be Quit (sic). Give your cash or I'll shoot."
The robber got about $400 but left half of his note. Investigators found the other half outside the bank's front doors. Authorities say that part of the man's October pay stub had his name and address.
The suspect was arrested at his Cary home. A judge ordered him held without bond on Monday and ask who he voted for. His answer proudly was, Obama. If convicted of bank robbery, he faces 20 years in prison.

A Little Chicago Logic for Tuesday

Chicago.... Who Runs it?

Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin

Representative: Jesse Jackson, Jr.

Illinois Governor: Rod Blogojevich (arrested a week ago)

Illinois House leader: Mike Madigan

Illinois Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)

Chicago Mayor: Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)

The leadership in Illinois ? .....all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago .

Body count in the last six months:
292 killed (murdered) in Chicago

221 killed in Iraq

State pension fund - $44 Billion in debt, worst in the country.

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax - 10.25% highest in country. (Look it up).

Chicago school system - rated one of the worst in the country.

Of course, they're all blaming each other. They can't blame Republicans because there aren't any.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .
Obama will "fix" Washington politics with Change.

Another outlook on the Bail Outs
Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it.

They failed and it closed.

Now, with a little Change from Chicago we are trusting the economy of our country and 700 Billion Dollars to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze.

Now if that doesn't make you nervous, what does?

Clinton Chronicles

The Clinton Chronicles

Hard to find. A tad long so don't start it unless you got some time.

Interesting. You can see how Obama came to be thru Chicago

How about a Sunday Funny

A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function where Nancy Pelosi happened to appear. Ms. Pelosi took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.

'Would you mind telling me, Doctor,' she asked, 'how do you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?'

'Nothing is easier,' he replied. 'You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track.'

'What sort of question?' asked Pelosi.

Well, you might ask, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?'

Pelosi thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, 'You wouldn't happen to have another example would you?
I must confess I don't know much about history.'

Thank you Anita from Panama, a grand friend.

Thought for Today

“Politicians have immense power to do harm to the economy. But they have very little power to do good.” - Walter Williams

How deep is this Blag-o-gate you recon?

Gov. Blagojevich's attorney urged the Illinois House panel to issue a subpoena to Barack Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Blagogate Do the names Eliot Spitzer, Kwame Kilpatrick, John Edwards, WILLIAM JEFFERSON, DEM, LA. and Tim Mahoney, ring any bells in your minds?

And the Beat goes on...

Bail Me Out

Unfortunately, nobody is stopping the bailout freight train and asking whether politicians have any qualifications to oversee private business decisions. The vast majority of them have never met a payroll or run a business. The political class knows how to spend money, of course, but the last thing the Big Three and UAW need is guidance on building bridges to nowhere or financing worthless bureaucracies. The Big Three should be paying attention to consumer sentiment and shareholder value without having to worry about a bunch of back-seat drivers in Washington telling them what to do and how to do it.

Without Representation
Of the $188 billion in bailout funds doled out so far to banks by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, $1.6 billion went to pay bank executive’s salaries, bonuses and other perks.
As I recall, there was enormous public opposition to the $700 billion bailout passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bush in September. Our “leaders” turned a deaf ear to the people then and continue to do so today.
The founders would be disgusted that so many Congress members who voted in favor of the bailout were re-elected only weeks later. They would be ashamed of us for what we’re putting up with today.

"Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that.
We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery,
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare,
We have killed our unborn and called it choice,
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable,
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem,
We have abused power and called it politics,
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition,
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression,
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Merry Christmas to All

Merry Christmas All. Recently I have been walking in the Aliente Casino. It is .8 of a mile if you walk on the outside walkway all the way around the Casino floor. The scenery is quite nice and changes every day as the folks change. No problem finding a seat.

Last few days have been very tough on walking. R/Leg has been going numb and it takes a long sit to recover. Until yesterday I have been just pushing thru it. At about the 1 mile mark it gave the impression it was normal and as long as I stopped every 1/4 mile or so it would recover fairly quickly. I could then go on until I just wanted to call it a day or walks end. However yesterday at about ½ mile I was numb from but down in R/Leg. I pushed on to 1 mile and found a very comfy chair in the Sports Book.

After what seemed ½ an hr sit my leg felt normal. I went for another .8 Mi to check and all was ok but the first ¾ was a bitch. I will make sure to keep this in my log so I may tell the Doc if it continues.

Well had to take a break there. Bird in oven. No grill this time. Figured I could use the oven to warm the place up.

Made a mincemeat pie last night. I have a pumpkin too got it from the Aliente` Casino. Free gift for all.

Well I think it is time to change temp on Turkey, so I will get after that and go for a walk.

Merry Christmas, Bless you All

Today's Thought...on Global Warming

A rare winter storm swept through Southern Nevada Wednesday, dumping the most snow on the valley in nearly three decades, grounding flights at the airport, forcing the closure of major highways and closing schools for today.

"This is the most snow we've had in Las Vegas in almost 30 years," said Chris Stachelski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Snow snarled major mountain highways and even dusted Malibu on Wednesday as a cold storm hit parts of California. … Styming thousands of commuters and travelers, snow shut Interstate 15 over 4,190-foot Cajon Pass east of Los Angeles and roads through the San Gabriel Mountains connecting metropolitan Los Angeles to the commuter suburbs of Palmdale and Lancaster in the high desert to the north.

Now 15 is closed to West bound traffic at Prim. I don't have any pics over there.

The Aztec Sun God has a tad of Las Vegas Snow accumulation on him.

I caught a few there LOL!!

It was funny I was trying to catch the damn snow flakes in the air, but they were too much water and falling too fast. But I kept after it LOL

We had a little SNOW here in Vegas yesterday. The monuntains are pretty. I am sure this is a product of Global Warming.

Health care for illegal immigrants

Health care for illegal immigrants cost the Texas government and local hospital districts $678 million in a year, according to a new study that state lawmakers hope will show the federal government how much Texas is spending in uncompensated care for illegal immigrants.

The study, by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, estimates that $597 million of the total was spent by 94 public hospitals during fiscal 2005-06.

The remainder, about $81 million, went to the state’s contribution to emergency Medicaid, which pays for emergency medical care for things such as childbirth, and to the Texas Family Violence Program, which funds shelters, 24-hour hot lines, counseling and other related services. That figure is from fiscal 2006-07.

Duh.... take that cost out of the hospitals cost and insurance might be one hell of a lot cheaper!
I will see if I can get the numbers for Nevada.

What do You Know?

Chris Dodd is a Criminal

When are the investigations of Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd gonna start?

We wouldn't need all this bail out if we had not sat back and watched the Dem House and Senate loan money to folks that couldn't pay, to the tune of (Get this) a "Trillion" bucks.

Here in Vegas we saw it first hand. There were at least 6 houses in a new development within a few blocks of me that were sold to illegal aliens and then they trashed the places when they finally left the homes.

Loans to folks that should not have happened in the first damn place.

Senator opens mouth inserts foot, for goodness sakes... He is a Criminal!!!

Sen. Christopher Dodd, chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, suggested on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that Rick Wagoner, the chief executive of GM, “has to move on.”

Where does Dodd get the temerity to make such a proposition in light of his own incompetence and scandal? Dodd is in charge of the committee that could have kept us from entering the current credit crisis. He’s the same man who is in charge of regulating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and is No. 1 on their list of donations.

When Congress approved $25 billion to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Dodd denied rumors these firms were in financial crisis. He called the firms “fundamentally strong,” said they were “in good shape” and to “suggest they are in major trouble is not accurate.”

Dodd also received preferential loans from Countrywide Mortgage Bank, and then said he wasn’t aware that he was getting a “special” deal. How is that possible?

The bottom line is that Dodd received special treatment from a company that he was in charge of regulating and to this day he has refused to release details of those transactions. If Dodd has done no wrong, then why not release the documents and dispel the accusations?

Just when you think you’ve seen the height of hypocrisy, leave it up to a politician to take it to the next level.

Turn Up the Heat!

I am an American, a Conservative, a Republican, , and a Christian

Now that the election is well behind us, as I have seen written several places, now comes the hard part for The Messiah Obama. Up until now he only had a campaign to win; now he has a country to lead.
It is my belief that he will lead it very poorly. In fact, I think one of his lasting accomplishments during his four years in office will be to make the Carter presidency look better.
For better or worse he will be America’s president, which means he will be my president. I am sure that I will disagree with nearly everything he does. Still, I respect the office and I will strive to show that respect to the office holder. A pet peeve of mine is the bad habit that has developed over the past eight years that doesn’t recognize that respect. It will be my goal, here and in private, to once he has taken the oath of office to show the office respect. Not as a sign of agreement, but as a show of the high esteem I have for the office of President.
That being said, I will use my small platform to speak out against those things that I will inevitably disagree with. I will fight for what I believe to be right. And after what is bound to be a historically short pause I will fight to help conservative men and women become elected. Twenty-four months of President Obama working with the expanded majorities in Congress could make that easy.
The biggest myth of this election is that our country will be united under Obama. That isn't going to happen. It will seem so because it's our side on the other side and we won't be making films about Obama while he is in office distorting his words and bashing him. We won't be drawing pictures of him with monkey ears and calling him Obamahitler like the other side did. We won't have people running up to Obama's Sec. of State with 'blood' on our hands like Code Pink did. We won't parade paper mache` images of Obama and Biden in prison uniforms down streets of our towns.
And one thing is for sure. The classy and gracious staff of Pres. Bush won't be pulling the "O" off all the computers and vandalizing offices like the Clinton staff did. The Bush family won't be stealing furniture from the White House either. You won't have country music artists slamming Obama on foreign soil or agreeing with our enemies about how awful he is.

It will seem better because of the class of Republican Conservatives. However it will still be as divided as before because …
57 million of us voted against President Elect Obama.
I am an American, a Conservative, a Republican, , and a Christian and I am damn proud of it. So bring on the insults, I will still emerge victorious. Our ideology and vision is so completely opposite of the Liberal Democrats and nothing is going to change that.

Old Times

I had an ole Biker bud drop a line. I have not heard from her in a very long time. She took this picture at 90 mph on 95 North about half way to Indian Springs. I think that was a Wed morning about 9 am. Pretty weather and an empty highway.

We went to: Crystal Springs and the Short Branch

I bought Ches a long sleeved white "T" shirt with a similar picture as this.

We had brunch with Crystal the owner. Meatloaf sandwich as I recall. Again, weather was just great, the Highway was in good shape and empty so we just cruised at will. Was a great couple hundred miles. We did that for 2 or 3 days 5 or 6 Hundred miles till Chessie had to leave to make a Rally some damn where. Somewhere in Utah as I recall.

Well Chess is having a tad of a sad time at the moment. So anyone stopping by here stop by Chess and say Hi!!! Merry Christmas.
Copy / paste

http://chessiestales.blogspot.com/

Another of our Stops that day

A day or 2 later we took a quick short run to the damn. The weather lady was calling for 35 mi per hr winds. So we met like 6 am and headed for the damn. Anyway after running a bunch of foreign folks off my bike she shot this one.

We were off the road by 9am that morning. We had covered a couple hundred pretty miles by then and had the Iron Mules safe in the barn before the wind got too bad. We caught some of the wind right before we got to the barn. Had a tassel with a big rig and you know who wins those. We gave way and put em away and called it a day.

I use this one all the time for me and my bike.

Put some of that in your book Chessie...

To all my wood working friends!!!

Thought for Today

I have been busy the last couple days and the heater in the house went out.

Went to a great dinner on Dec7 with the DAV of Las Vegas, Chapter 13. I should be a member of them pretty soon.

The dinner was great and met several interesting folks.

Enjoy this and after I get the heater fixed and setteled I will think of a thought for the day.

Looks like Socialist Banks in Chicago tho for a start.

Saturday Afternoon Mischief...

I had a wonderful cup of coffee with this young lady this morning. Double Espresso and a tad of hot water... Then I cleaned up all my desk loose ends, yea right LOL. Did check all bills were paid for the month. Now I need a little MISCHIEF Hahhahaha. See what I can work up. Also need some exercise so I will try to combine.

As for my Thought for the day. Bail Out... This is the biggest bag of Dooo Duuu, Excrement, Bull Shit EVER!!!

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing exactly how it happened.

Could we pay with these Dollars ?

"All socialism involves slavery…. That which fundamentally distinguishes the slave is that he labors under coercion to satisfy another’s desires. This relation admits of many gradations. Oppressive taxation is a form of slavery of the individual to the community as a whole."

The critical question here is — How much is he obligated to labor for others benefit? How much can he labor for others before he protests?

I am in protest NOW!!

Or maybe we can pay for this bailout with this some of this Money.

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings.

The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery.

Get ready to share some misery.
I am in PROTEST NOW!!!

Aftrenoon Stroll without a Thought

No thought today, with all this bail out stuff it is really getting too Socialistic to even think about.

I had a wonderful meeting with Katye yesterday afternoon. I met her on the internet a month or so ago. We had a grand chat and caught up on each others gossip. She is young and pretty as you can see and is living life and having fun. Burning the candle at both ends and having fun doing it. She is hooked on Free fall Jumping and does it every chance she gets. I need to go with her some time soon and get some pictures at the landing site. Brings back lots of old memories.

Gonna have to slow up on the gym wow I can hardly move today LOL. Will go for my stroll and call it a day.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Off to the gym

Get a Kleenex!! or 2

I will find a link to help support this one.

Foggy Day Add on

"Barack Obama’s grandfather was imprisoned and brutally tortured by the British during the violent struggle for Kenyan independence, according to the Kenyan family of the US President-elect.

Hussein Onyango Obama, Mr Obama’s paternal grandfather, became involved in the Kenyan independence movement while working as a cook for a British army officer after the war. He was arrested in 1949 and jailed for two years in a high-security prison where, according to his family, he was subjected to horrific violence to extract information about the growing insurgency.

“The African warders were instructed by the white soldiers to whip him every morning and evening till he confessed,” said Sarah Onyango, Hussein Onyango’s third wife, the woman Mr Obama refers to as “Granny Sarah”.

Mrs Onyango, 87, described how “white soldiers” visited the prison every two or three days to carry out “disciplinary action” on the inmates suspected of subversive activities. "

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article5276010.ece

I have two questions.
Should we believe her?
Why is this a NEW news story?

If we believe her on this story then what do we believe on the BIRTH of Obama? Obama is illegitimate until there is proof that he is qualified to hold the office. He has NOT shown us a valid, verified, birth certificate, and his "Loving Granny Sarah" says she was at his bed side for birth.

Today's Thought..Walk and Stroll

All ready to go!!!

I got some new fruit yesterday. These are my last 2 pomegranates, may have to run out to Logandale Sat.

Today I will go back to Activity Center for a walk then use their gym.
After another long rest on a bench in the sun I walked the 1/4 mile to tackle this hill again andf called it a day.

Wow was it so pretty yesterday afternoon. I walked 1.1Mi.in a new record time for me.!! Then took a nice long rest. After that I tackled these stairs I did them 6 times up and 2 times down. The other 4 times I walked around to get to the bottom.

A Thought for a Walk LOL

Another thing I found interesting was that several trees of the same kind are losing their leaves at a dramatically different rate. Now why is that? They all have endured the same summer and fall.

Weird ha?

Wow yesterday had a wonderful walk in the park. I did a mile then rested a good while then worked on a hill. I have a pic of the hill but I don't the pic does the hill justice. I also did some steps work. They don't have a guard rail so I have a problem going down. I will take pics of the steps today.

As I was going thru all my regular News spots I ran across a news story that the Mayor of Birmingham,AL was snagged by the FBI as he went to work yesterday morning. Then of course the AP story went on to say why. Well I did a little search and found several stories on the subject but not a one mentioned he was a Democrat.

http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2008/12/birmingham_mayor_larry_langfor_15.html

Now why is that?

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/12/01/birmingham.mayor/?iref=mpstoryview

It seems to me we can safely presume there are no Republicans involved in the Bank and Home loan meltdown. If there were he would have been lynched by now.

It is such a crime the way the press handles all the news in such a slanted corrupted way.

Pictures

“If you want more of something, subsidize it; if you want less of something, tax it.”

Maybe this one ...

I have been quite remiss here last week or so on trying to take pictures, although I did take some weather pictures. Maybe I will try to find one interesting enough for you guys.

Kinda looks like a clown's face with his/her tongue hanging out LOL

Here they are about ready to open and make ready... The pomegranate on the right had some mold in it so I just chucked it.

There it is... ready to eat. The orange is quite tart so I sprinkled some sugar on it. The coffee is gone so I will get a glass of juice.

Is it Fri Yet?

Wow the weather over the Thanksgiving weekend was soooooo great! I relay missed not riding this weekend.
