Keeping Score?

Please take a moment to look at this link, Quite interesting for a man to say he would not hire any "Lobbyists" to his Administration.
Here we have 17 Lobbyists added to the Administration in 14 days. Wow. Now I really don't care whether he hires them or a Homeless guy, or Gal for that matter. Best person for the job should be the object. However to say he will not have them in his Administration, then hire 17 of em in 14 Days does not show strong integrity.
17 Lobbyist in 14 Days .

Are these colors easier to read?

This is the original post Karen

Thanks All

Here is a small thought for today? What do you think? Would this make it better for women or worse. I know in the small business I had in WA I would not at this point hire any new women.

"President Barack Obama, keeping a campaign pledge, signed a law Thursday to make it easier to sue employers for pay discrimination.

Women who worked on Obama’s Senate staff last year, however, were themselves paid on average 78 cents for every dollar a man was paid, according to data last year from the Report of the Secretary of the Senate.

The data, analyzed by CNSNews.com, showed that in the period from Oct. 1, 2007, through March 31, 2008, Obama paid women on his Senate staff an annual average salary of $44,953.21. That was $12,472 less than the $57,425 average annual salary that then-Sen. Obama paid men..." CNSNews.com

Now, if you'll remember we knew this before O! was elected. We also knew that the Republican Candidate paid his women staffers more AND had more women staffers.

Of course I 100% agree that women should be paid the same amount as a man if they are doing the same job --anything else is absurd. However, that being said, I do not believe that women should be able to now sue employers for 'reparations.' This would be such a blow to companies that other women could lose their jobs to absorb the blow. Other companies will stop hiring women in the first place...therefore defeating the purpose.

I guess we should be keeping some sort of 'mortal sins' list to see how much the press allows Obama to get away with --it was be nice to see the end of the honeymoon on paper.

My buddy Glen and I sure as hell are. He actually tried to post here but couldn't as he isn't on Blogger. I understand your concern about anonymous comments of course.

Anyway, here's a score on "Hope and Change" for you. 17 lobbyists in 14 days:

So much for the anti-lobby rhetoric at the podium from "The One," and this is just the first month! Nobody said it better than Ann Coulter, "If Democrats had any brains, they'd be Republicans."

Exactly. Thanks Ann that is right.

What's wrong with the laws already on the books? Just who do they think their fooling with this crap?

And yeah, it will only add more insecurity to the job pool as far as hiring and keeping female workers.

This sucks.

Joker, Explain to me how I may permit a non blogger to post a comment.

Have you read Ann Coulter's "Guilty"?

Also if we are keeping that kind of "Score" We have 3 Tax Cheats put up for Appointments to this Administration. One Approved by the Senate and two declined the request.

Thanks Joker and Web, Chess you may be one that feels the pain from this law.

Pap: Go to your dashboard, then settings, then comments. Make sure "Anyone" is checked.

Now, be aware if you do this, you may get some bullshit from jackasses who use anonymous to hide behind. That's when you have to decide if you want to moderate your comments or not. I had my blog open to all for almost a year before anonymous jerks forced me to enable comment moderation.

Anyway, keep scrolling down the page and make any other changes or updates you want and at the bottom click 'save settings.'

Log out of blogger and go to your blog home page, so you'll see it as any visitor would. Pick any post and click for comment. You should see the "Anonymous" and "Name" options have now appeared. That's all there is to it.

Thanks got it. We'll see how long this lasts LOL.

The Ledbetter law will prove an absolute disaster. The only statistics I have ever seen regarding equal pay are compiled over an entire career. Meaning, Ms. X made less during her career than Mr. Y. What is always left unsaid is that a large number of these women stay at home for a good number of years to raise children and often return to the work force on a part time basis.
